About myself

I defended my Master's thesis in March this year and started the very first job in my life two weeks after then. I am currently a software engineer in the Color Printing and Imaging Division (CPID) of Tektronix, Inc. It is located at a small town ---- Wilsonville, Oregan, about 20 miles south to Downtown Portland.

Portland is a clean and quiet medium-size city in Northwest US. It is located in a valley of Cascade Range surrounded by several high mountains, that's why it is often foggy and rainy. Mountain Rainier, Mountain St. Helens, Mountain Hood and Mountain Jefferson these famous mountains are all within one or two hours driving distance. If you like sea, Pacific Ocean is just 2 hours away. Environment-wise and weather-wise, Portland is a very nice place to live. Although someone say it rains too much here, I don't mind though. I enjoy my life in Portland very much.

Before moving to Portland, I stayed in Cleveland, Ohio, a typical mid-west style city, for two and half years. I went to school there, Case Western Reserve University. I studied in its EECS department of Engineering School . I did research for my Master's degree in Robotics field. Although I only worked in CAISR for a little bit more than one year, it left me a lot of good memories. Especially when I feel lonely here, I miss it more.

My life in China was even simpler. Since age 6, my life had been mostly filled with school, study, endless homework and exams for 16 years until I graduated with my Bachelor's from University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). I was admitted to the Department of Electrical Engineering (class numbered as 886) of USTC in 1988. In 1993, I graduated from there, and before long, I came to US.

Travel is one of my favorites. I love to see different places, meet different people, feel different culture. But up to now, my travel is limited in China, US and Canada only. One day I would like to visit Europe. Hope it will happen soon.
