CAM-LEM Fabricated Components

The following components were fabricated using the CAM-LEM process at various stages of development.

An 83-layer alumina ceramic head, 42mm tall. Four were fabricated side-by-side in parallel. Click on the image to see it full-size.

An early 300-layer paper model hand-assembled using registration bolts:
Turbine blade section made directly in alumina ceramic.

Bone from the femur of a dog, made from alumina ceramic in 75 layers.

A three-layer ceramic component with in inner serpentine fluid channel and inlet and outlet ports. A ten-layer device with five interior serpentine channel layers (a continuous channel length of nearly 10m) has also been fabricated.
Alumina ceramic component, 50 mm diameter, 12 mm high.
Silicon Nitride disc, 52 mm diameter, 3 mm high.
A 46-layer ceramic flange component: the original alumina "green" unfired component is on the left, and shown after firing fully densified at right.
